The Scandinavian Healthcare and Therapy Dog Association

The Scandinavian Healthcare and Therapy Dog Association is a nationwide grouping run as a non-profit organisation. The association's mission is to maintain the highest quality in Swedish therapy dog teams, service dogs and other social service dogs.

Scientific studies have shown that dogs have a beneficial impact on humans and a calming effect in stressful, alarming situations. Therapy dogs are trained to help e.g. schools, care homes and treatment homes inspire motivation, reduce worry and anxiety, improve memory, muscular strength and fine motor skills and boost the will to interact with others.

The Scandinavian Healthcare and Therapy Dog Association assembles training organizers and teams and keeps a database to help bring teams together with arrangers and customers. Its mission is to promote the development of the Scandinavian Healthcare and Therapy Dog Association, clarify the role of service dogs in health and social care and strive for appropriate training, further education and research and development in the service dog field.

"Dogs are our most important tool, our closest colleagues and our best friends. Together with AniCura, we can make sure our dogs are always in good health"
